Kado Pay

Why Payments

“Payments” has been largely ignored in the crypto space, but Kado strongly believes solving payments is one of the largest factors that will enable mass adoption of crypto. Kado will deploy a powerful e-commerce experience where crypto-natives can connect their wallets and spend stablecoins with ‘real-world’ merchants like Amazon & Wal-Mart — directly in the Kado platform. No extra steps. Buy directly through Kado and your orders will be fulfilled and delivered in no time.

Kado Pay will evolve into a two-sided marketplace focused on benefiting both consumers and merchants.

Web3 Shopping Benefits

Consumers will be able to sign up for a tiered, loss-less, Kado Prime Membership via Suberra Protocol, where they can withdraw their principal amount at any time, and the yield from the principal amount is used to power rewards & incentives to Kado Pay shoppers. Not only do consumers have the ease of shopping directly from their digital wallet, but they’ll also earn discounts & rewards that make shopping on Kado less expensive than spending traditional fiat with these merchants.

Kado will also partner with Valkyrie Protocol to power an innovative referral rewards program, rewarding shoppers who bring friends onto the platform. This is just the start of gamifying the crypto-native shopping experience, with the design of value accrual going back to those who use the platform in this Web3 e-commerce model.

Kado Pay will continue to onboard more 1st and 3rd party merchants. The first merchants live on the platform, Amazon, Wal-Mart, and similar brands, are 3rd party merchants - meaning they won't sign up directly to accept stablecoin payments for their products. 3rd party merchants will continue to be onboarded - with the shopping mall for crypto concept, Kado will bring on merchants looking to get in front of the crypto native audience. Kado works with an API partner on the backend to fulfill orders with 3rd party merchants on behalf of customers, including customer support.

Kado Pay will also allow 1st party merchants to easily list their storefronts and products on the Kado platform, and accept stablecoin payments directly.

Merchant Benefits

The first main benefit is that merchants will not have to pay the traditional 1.5 to 3.5% credit card processing fee per transaction. Merchants keep 100% of the funds when accepting stablecoins directly. Doing this math at scale, it becomes a no-brainer for merchants to benefit their bottom line. On top of this, traditional fiat funds take 1-2+ days to officially settle into a merchant’s account. This creates delays and inefficiencies, compared to stablecoin payments, which are settled nearly instantly (seconds compared to days), and these funds can be productive right away.

What might be a better way to use funds immediately? Settle with vendors instantly, invest in an asset, or deposit those funds into your stablecoin yield-bearing instrument of choice and gain that sweet, sweet yield… then immediately send those funds elsewhere when they are needed to pay bills, expenses, or cash out with Kado Ramp, etc.

Kado Ramp

Consumers need a seamless bridge to swap between their fiat and crypto.

The Stablecoin Bridge

As it stands today, the user experience and fees involved make this a huge blocker. Consumers are becoming more and more aware of the new financial system being built in crypto, but are not willing or able to access it. Once they do go through the effort of moving fiat into crypto, it is even more challenging to get that crypto back to fiat to pay for real world goods and services. Kado Ramp solves this for consumers and makes it a painless process.

This problem also applies to merchants. They may want to accept stablecoin payments directly, but the process of getting their systems & structure set up to convert fiat to crypto, accept crypto, and inevitably convert their crypto back to fiat is a daunting task that again is a huge friction point currently.

Kado will not only give merchants the ability to accept stablecoin payments directly, but the ability to seamlessly swap their funds back to fiat when necessary, or gain access directly into Anchor Protocol via Kado Save. Better fees, better savings, happier merchants.

Kado Save

DeFi Benefits

One of the benefits of stablecoins is the ability to “make dollars on your dollars” by depositing stablecoins into yield farming protocols that gain a certain APY %, much larger than the 0.5% high yield savings accounts offered in traditional finance. Many of these farming protocols are volatile, meaning the APY % offer fluctuates often. New age savings protocols are being built on crypto rails to offer a steady APY % that is a dependable, risk-free rate.

Terra’s Anchor Protocol is becoming the gold standard for passive income on the blockchain. Anchor is a decentralized savings protocol that offers a steady 20% APY, powered by block rewards of major PoS blockchains, with over 5bn total-value locked (TVL) today.

Kado is building a direct fiat integration into Terra and stablecoins, effectively allowing merchants and consumers to gain benefit from the Anchor Protocol.

With this solution, developers can integrate their platforms into Anchor via Kado to benefit from full custodian control over moving between fiat, crypto, and the Anchor Earn SDK — on their terms. Enabling the full Stripe for Crypto capabilities.

This financial capability, to benefit from real-world capabilities while accessing Anchor yields, will create solutions for consumers, merchants, and all parties looking to utilize crypto yields.
