What does Kado Solve?
Invest, save, and now spend in crypto.
The Siloed Stablecoin Experience
The Kado platform leverages a crypto-native experience to solve friction for both consumers and merchants in crypto today. More and more folks are turning their fiat into stablecoins due to all the innovative strategies in DeFi to invest, save, and for lack of better words - make money. Kado intends to create ways to use stablecoins in the world.
There is still the headache for crypto-natives to go through many obstacles to cash out crypto to their USD bank account, so they can pay for things in the “real world” — food, rent, bills, etc. Even stablecoins held in a centralized wallet and converted by payment processors incur hefty fees.
Consumers will have the ability to spend stablecoins directly on real world purchases straight from their digital wallet, without having to cash out back to fiat first.
Spending Stablecoins Directly
Traditionally getting from “Crypto to Fiat” has been full of fees, friction and can take 2-5 days for you to have the opportunity to use these dollars.
Given the friction moving between crypto & fiat, merchants are also unable to benefit from stablecoin payments directly. Today, most that do accept payments do so in the form of Bitcoin or Ethereum, both of which are not ideal methods of exchange (gwei fees, anyone?). Merchants who do not accept stablecoins are left with traditional credit card payment methods, which take 1.5 to 3.5% in processing fees from merchants in every transaction. Funds can take days to fully settle into a merchant’s account before being usable in supply chain, payroll, or general use.
Merchants who directly accept stablecoin payments do not owe any processing fees to credit card companies and the funds are settled instantly.
A Seamless Bridge
For both consumers and merchants alike, there needs to be a seamless bridge between the crypto and fiat rails to make these mass adoption use cases possible. Currently there are many exchanges and hoops to jump through to get fiat into crypto, and crypto back to fiat. Kado Ramp solves this.
With Kado Ramp, users will be able to convert stablecoins and fiat, for low fees, at-will. A customer user interface will be available enabling onboarding and transacting.
With payments and fiat gateway problems solved, the next step is to allow merchants and consumers to directly benefit from the high-yield savings innovation in the crypto space to gain yield on their dollars - enabling exposure to their transaction volume to Anchor like savings capabilities. In traditional finance, “high yield” savings accounts tout a 0.5% APY. In crypto finance, the highest rate is ~20% APY. Today, very few are able to take advantage of this high yield given the many obstacles to get fiat into crypto, and into these different savings protocols.
Kado will create a seamless API-driven SDK that allows developers, consumers, merchants, and other fintech partners to directly interface fiat with such protocols, enabling creative and custom exposure to yield bearing opportunities.
All of these solutions provide a one-stop-shop allowing merchants and consumers to freely enjoy the benefits of running on stablecoin rails, and seamlessly move between crypto & fiat.
